    Thumb Down Cleaning walls

    Advertisements
Any recommendations for what to use? I'm assuming housing here uses super cheap paint because I can't get these handprints and general 5 year old dirt off my walls for anything. I've tried magic erasers, kitchen cleaner, and just dish soap and water, with no success. All that really happens is the dirt gets spread around, and these greasy handprints are not getting touched at all.

If your walls are the standard hospital white color, best of you repaint the whole wall - less hassle with scrubbing. Might be that the dirt already soaked in really well and no cleaner will truly remove it.

The paint on our walls is basically just Primer, so I plan on just painting the walls when we move out and covering all the kids "artwork" that way

This REALLY works. About 50/50 mix, spray and wipe it off. Great for everything.

    Paint the walls?

Chances are that you are right and the paint is really cheap. Any sort of cleaner you already put on it has probably softened/dissolved the top of the paint, the dirt soaked into it, and then the paint rehardened keeping the dirt with it.

We just moved and used a mixture of bleach and water to get the walls clean. I used about a quarter cup of bleach with a quart of water.

Thanks girls, I'll try the vinegar thing. It doesn't bug me enough to repaint lol, I'm hoping we can move out of here within a few months anyways and they repaint after we move out so no reason to do it now.
