Help Help me decorate my morning room *Updated Pics*

    Advertisements
Need to figure out window treatments for my morning room.

Here is the room, can get another photo if needed. Has 5 windows total (two on one side, 3 on another) and 2 french doors (only 1 opens).

    View One:

    View Two:

Better look at the colors for the table & floor:

Want to keep it very bright and "open", need to de-formalize it a bit (table ended up looking a little more formal then I wanted).

    HELP!

Going to do my best to explain this...

I picked these up today with the idea of doing 3 long rods, 1 over the two windows on the right, one over the 3 windows in the middle, and 1 over the door. Then doing this pattern on the right, over the door, and in the center of the longest rod (over the 3 windows). And then I have a plain white curtain of the same material and planned on doing 1 panel on each end of the longest rod.

Now I am realizing when I close them, the longest rod may look funk with 1 white panel, 2 patterned curtains, and 1 white panel again... help!

That was my first thought, but was worried it would be too much white since the walls are white and I can't paint them until after our 1 year in the house.

I don't think so. The white would pop really nice off the wood floors and table. It would also give it an airy, welcoming feel.

I'm a fan of shades in morning room's, just because of the way the sun can come blaring in (if your house is facing the right way). Here is one idea of shades that can be done without being in your face "Hey I'm a shade."

I would have posted the pic but it is HUGE

Also in my mom's old house she had a room like this, she got the nice wood shades and put them in the window and then just put the drape curtain that frames the entire group of windows with the soft flowy looking window curtain/drape (I'm blanking on the term right now.) It looks really good in my opinion.

Yea... what about an accent color?

And would it look stupid if I did 1 long rod for the two windows on the right and the doors you can't see (will get a pic) with a curtain with a print like this and then the 3 individual windows plain white?

Shades were my thought but the shades the other way (covering the bottom for privacy but open at the top 1/2) but they ended up being VERY expensive.
