    Where to Buy Window Treatments?

    Advertisements
So since we bought a brand new home there are zero window treatments and I am installing everything for the first time.

I need to get some stuff up... I want to do curtains & blinds for the family room and master. Curtains and a sheer curtain behind it for the dining room, living room, and most of the bedrooms. And lastly want to do paper blinds for the morning room.

Posted some pics below so you can see the different kinds of rooms im working with. Where did you get your window treatments? I dont need the best of the best, but also dont want crap. Im just really trying to not drop $1,000+ to get something on all of them (20 total).

You can get a pattern from someplace like Joanns for a couple bucks. You mount it on a board or something, the pattern will tell you, it is different depending on the pattern- For window treatments you pretty much just have to be able to sew a straight line. Maybe you could put an ad on CL for a seamstress in your area and ask to see their work? Then negotiate a price if you buy the pattern and fabric. Have them show you the first one after it's done to make sure it's what you want.

When we moved in this house, I got these blinds from JCP for every window in the house.

JCPenney : 2" Faux Wood Blinds

We had them over two years now and I have had no problem with them. They were worth every penny. I got them half-off the regular price, which they are right now, with free shipping (right now, if your order is over $69, use SHIP69). They were crazy easy to put up. The first one took hubby and I about twenty minutes, but the rest went up quicker because we fell into a system. They carry most common sizes in stock, so you don't have to pay for custom. They shorten really easy, too.

Wanted to add, the do well at darkening the room when we want it to.
