What do you stock your pantry with to keep the basics in the house, we've already gone grocery shopping once but didn't really get anything to have around for more then weekly meals. Help me think here, I've never had this much storage space so what do you stockpile in your pantry?

typically I just buy double of items on sale. No point in buying things you dont regularly use. I stock up on baking goods this time of year by buying extras of whats on sale.

We eat a lot of casseroles in my house. It kinda helps us save money. So I buy a lot of canned foods (broth's, creamed soups, beans, etc) needed for those. I have so many in the pantry its crazy
I also always makes sure to have stuffing, noodles and rice stock piled lol. Then I buy the HUGE packs of popcorn and fruit snacks to keep the boys occupied at snack time

I try and have easy things, like lots of spaghetti, sauce, mac and cheese, spaghettios, or things that are for when I don't want to really make a big huge meal.
some of my pantry basics that aren't easy fix foods. Bread Crumbs sugar canned veggies canned fruit enchilada sauce rice even if I have some I buy the normal amount to make sure I don't run out. it also depends on what you normally make/eat. |

I always have:
chicken stock beef stock whole wheat pasta canned tomatoes canned veggies (peas, beans (black, white, kidney, green), corn) soup macaroni and cheese cereal (think I am at a low right now because I only have 6 boxes) I'd like to develop a good stocked pantry based on our usage so I can shop for what i need to replace my stock.

I didn't even think of baking supplies, or broth. I want to pick up a bunch of homestyle bakes from banquet those are easy fixes my husband and I like. I should get snack stuff too probably because sometimes he wakes up in the middle of the night hungry. I just don't like having to go to the store every week for food.

I generally only shop once a month (but do have to go for milk or something like that weekly) for us. Family of four...well, three at the moment.
Our pantry looks a bit like this right now: Case of green beans (24 cans) half case of corn half case of peas Chili beans, kidney beans, blackeye peas, canned pinto beans, garbanzo beans, whole potatoes, canned carrots, pork 'n beans, vienna sausages (the boys LOVE them...eeewww), various soups, cereal, pasta (lots of pasta in various forms), rice, an ungodly amount of ranch dressing (the good stuff...it was on sale for $1), oats, self-rising flour, all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, powder sugar, brown sugar, crackers, evaporated milk, canned tomatoes (whole, diced, sauce, paste) all the other goodies for baking, grated parmesan, veggie/chicken/beef broth, peanut butter, velveeta (on sale...again) and some boxed dinners (on sale). It doesn't look like much really when you write it down but all that mess above is in triplicate or more. It also doesn't include what is in the fridge and freezer, . We'll just say that I really don't have to go grocery shopping for anything other than milk (and not really that since we have some powdered milk too) for the next three months if I don't want to.
