Am I the only one like this?

If I am going to the store, while I'm making my list, i have to visualize the store i'm going to and the item on my list, and figure out where it is in the store before i go in. If there's a recipe i want to try but don't recognize an ingredient, I won't make the recipe cause I'm terrified I won't be able to find it in the store?
I don't like going into stores where I don't know whats down the aisles, and if I can't find something, I get severe anxiety and sweaty palms and start freaking out. Its AWFUL!! I feel like i'm held back by this, but have no idea how to fix it. I've tried asking people who work at the stores if there's something I absolutely must have, but I feel almost ashamed afterwards.
Am I the only one who ever feels this way? I think I must be a little crazy

I've never had this problem... But I think we all have something we get like this about. With me, it's dishes... If I have a set of 16 (you know, for a family of 4) and one breaks, I have a hard time keeping the rest of the set. I couldn't keep the McDs glasses I got because I didn't get an even number of any color. It's odd.

Yep I do that I try to plan out everything before i go shopping. Then walmart goes and moves all the darn aisle on me darn them

Im not that way going for shopping... but I am that way driving, I panic very quickly and think Im lost.. i now drive with a GPS..at all times. I get nervous going into the stores, but not bc i can't find things, but bc of all the people. I don't do movie theaters either.. concerts are very hard ... i always sit in the nose bleed section.. lol

I used to be like that, I would go to the store and if the lot looked too crowded I would leave too, more people equaled more peopleto see me looking clueless. I've gotten loads better, but I deff. Only grocery shop with a purpose

me too. i feel like everyone's gonna laugh at me if i look like i don't know what i'm looking for. i wish there was like a Scared to Grocery Shop Anonymous, haha

Yeah, it sounds to people who don't feel the anxiety but its very hard. I've gotten better but when I look at the asile guide in Giant I don't go all the way up too it 'cause I feel embarssed. When I'm with friends shoping I'll totally crack on myself...just can't do it alone!

I don't get the anxiety part but I do not the commissary here on base backwards and forwards and I make my shopping list in order of the aisles. If I need condiments, it's first on the list because that's aisle 1, etc..

i've had to learn to do this to so that i don't get overwhelmed. but i think its ridiculous i can't make a recipe jst cause there's one or two ingredients that i don't know what they are/can't find

I don't the anxiety attack, but my shopping list is always done in the order of the aisles. And if it's not, it throws me off. And I hate food shopping with DB because he's like "Oh we need *random food*" "but that's on the other side of the store..." "I know..i just thought of it"
