Do you think this is good to have around?
Wait for the poll!
I REALLY want a carpet shampooer/steamer/deep cleaner (i dont know what they call them these days. Especially sense we have a dog and we are clumsy and like to spill things and really because we want to have a baby and with kids around you never know WHAT you will get on your carpets! just a quick fix so stains wont set it! DH just says it would be easier to hire someone to do it for us. Do you think its wise to have a deep cleaner of your own or just hire someone? $200 for the cleaner $100 + (depending on the number of rooms) to hire someone every time you want your carpets cleaned

YES! DF and I bought one for $200... best thing we have bought in a long time. We clean our carpets with it weekly, and it is STILL gross how much dirt comes up. We have one dog and no kids, so there is not even that much to make the carpets dirty. I am so glad we bought it. I say go for it.
ETA: We have a Hoover Steamvac. Works great and is SO simple and quick to use. |

We bought a Little Green Machine by Bissell. It's a small, portable shampoo thing that we get out when there are pet accidents or they spill something. It's cheaper than a full size shampooer and still works great.

I hire Stanley Steamer at least once or twice a year... depending on if I am having large gatherings or if the carpet needs it... In the mean time, we do high track areas ourselves.

I have a Bissel that I actually just used today. I love it and I use it every couple of months, so it's definitely cheaper to do it myself than to hire someone or rent one every time. I'm always amazed at the grossness that comes out of the carpets.

I have a Bissell Little Green for spot cleaning and a Bissell upright Steamcleaner. With two dogs, a baby, and a messy husband...I like to do it myself as often as I want without hiring someone!

I want the new Kirby that's out. It has a ton of attachments. One of the things it has is a shampooer. The shampoo it uses it a quick drying foam. I've used it before and it's really really easy to use. I want one really bad.
