Removing static electricity from your home
Hi everyone!
so heres my problem and any insight would be helpful. We just moved into a home in AZ and we keep getting zipped! We go near a wall zip. We hold hands zip. We kiss zip. We pet the dog super zip! its awlful... and we don't even have the furniture in YET. Its in every room! no where in the entire house is safe. We are renting so that puts a limit on our options. Its actually not that dry in the house so I'm not sure why there is so much. All i know is it actually hurts when you do get zipped.Do you have a way of removing static electricity from the house? please help.We don't want/can't afford to buy a humidifier right now so thats out BUT i saw one that if you put fabric softener and water in a bottle and spray it should help. Has anyone every used that techquine before? OH! and i saw somewhere that they make wrist bands to help. Does anyone know where to buy one of those cause my DH gets zipped every where in AZ.

You can boil water on the stove to help with static. Otherwise, humidifier is the best way that I know of.

I would do that too, just make sure to keep an eye on the pot so it doesn't boil all the way to dry. I would also use a desk fan or oscillating fan near the pot, to help to distribute the moisture to a larger area more quickly. You can also leave the bathroom door open while showering, without the exhaust fan on to add even more moisture to the home!

If you want it to smell good, you can add some cinnamon in there. Makes the house smell yummy.

I've done that but added imitation vanilla instead, makes the house smell like cookies IMO

thanks! I'm think about trying this http://www.recipezaar.com/Removing-S...ur-Home-350346 or buying a ton of static guard and spray it everywhere.

I know you want tips for the HOUSE, but... I used to take a dryer sheet and rub it in my hair and clothes before I did anything or went anywhere. I would also keep one in my pocket wherever I went. I hate hate haaaaaate getting shocked. I have OCD now because of my fear of getting shocked! Good luck to you...
