Anyone have an "Amana" washer?
We need to buy a new washer today. I've been looking online and I found an Amana front loader at Home Depot. Great reviews, and importantly, cheap. DH's truck and our washer both died on the same day this week!! So today we're trying to replace both, lol.
I'm wondering if anyone has this brand, what do you think of it? It looks like it's made by Whirlpool. Any info would be great - we've never bought an appliance, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed!

Amana is the made by the same company as Kitchen-aid, Whirlpool, and a few others. I don't own an Amana, but I used to work for an appliance dealer in Austin. Amana is a pretty decent brand IMO. I prefer Whirlpool and their different brands (including Amana) to GE products personally. It's not necessarily the quality of the brand, but it is the quality of the customer service you will receive. If something goes wrong with the washer, it is incredibly easy to find a service company who does warranty work on that brand. GE is not the easiest brand to schedule service. I'd go ahead and make the purchase. It's definitely going to be better than purchasing an LG or something.
