We are about to paint our living room and kitchen, and we have this white brick fireplace in the LR.

I don't like it at all. It's not painted white, the brick is actually white. Anyway, I'm trying to convince my husband that it won't look tacky if we paint it. He's not hearing it.

Has anyone here ever painted brick in their home? Any special techniques?

We were thinking of hiring someone to tile our ugly brick fireplace. We did paint it, but it still looks like tacky brick, lol.

You could always put sheet rock or drywall over it and paint it that way. (HGTV idea (don't remember what show))
