I have the hardest time keeping..
-pictures -personal documents/papers -sentimental items ..organized and stored away neatly. What's your filing system like? Do you use albums or boxes for your pictures? Does anyone have any suggestions? Please show pictures if you have them. TIA.. |

I scrapbook all my pics so they are scrapbook albums neatly lined up on a shelf.. documents and things of that nature we keep in a vault in the closet.

most of the papers are in our file cabinet, Photos are mainly on the computer, and I have been trying to scrapbook them (not much luck there), sentimental items, I get shoe boxes and decorate them and store them in there. All the kids have their own sentimental item box.

Photos go in albums / scrapbooks - when I print photos I also get a CD made and store the CD in the fire box. I also have a lot of photos in frames displayed throughout.
Personal / Important Documents go in fireproof file box Other documents are in a large regular file box - everything is organized by folder and purged at tax time. Sentimental items are stored in a trunk (i have two, one has all our "relationship" stuff in it, the other has other sentimental items) or on display.

Important papers in the firebox; I have a two drawer file cabinet for other things, and pictures on my computer, although I periodically export all the pics to an external hard drive that dh took to Iraq with him because about five years ago our computer died after a move and nothing could be retrieved.
We lost 5 years of family photos.I wish I could scrap book. Every time I try it looks like crap, and I'd probably then have a billion scrapbooks all over the place. LOL

Pictures that are printed out are either in a folder (dont' have frames for) or are in frames. Pictures that are still on my computer are either on: an external hard drive (I lost two months worth of pics two years ago),on multiple family members computers and on both computers. (Soon as hubby deploys, I'm printing them all out).
Important papers are in my organizer (don't have a firebox, but need one). Sentimental items are all over the house. I.E, our first dogs ashes are on the radio, the toy car Dh bought me when we were dating (happen to be the first thing he bought me) is sitting on the bookcase, letter from first deployment is sitting in a folder under bakers rack. (we are in an extremely small place, and don't have organization down pat yet, waiting to move on base) |
