Tar off carpet? Yes you read that right. DH walked in from work with his boots on and walked to our bedroom leaving a nice trail of black on the new carpet
and tried to blame it on the kids, ah no sorry it was not there when I went to get ODS from school and there is black on the bottom of your boots darling. It is just on the surface, but I don't know what would get it out.

Goo Gone?
ETA: I've always got a bottle in my cleaning supplies. It's usually to clean up a mess that my kids have made.

I'd try Goo Gone first, and if that doesn't work, maybe the paper bag method you use to pick up wax?
(Lay a brown paper bag on the carpet over the stain. Cover it with a cloth -- dishtowel or similar -- and press a hot iron on top. I dunno, it might end in disaster on second thought.) |
