need a little paint help - Homemakers Homemaking

I am trying to pick out a paint color for my bedroom. the trim is pretty thick and it is brown (wood like). I painted the walls antique white and it looked awful. It needs color. also i can't paint the trim. so any opinions would be helpful. I think i want to keep the colors light so my room looks bigger but i'm up for anything right now.

Hmmm... well my mom painted her room recently this gorgeous light but bright blue and it opens it up and makes it really cheery.. and then she also painted the kitchen a light but bright yellow.. I like both.. Let me see if she can tell me which colors and I can find them for you

thats just the thing. I have to buy all new stuff. I don't have anything except a bed frame.

light creamy butter ... not a lot of orange..
robin eggshell blue .. go get swatches tape them to walls and look at them for a few days/weeks and see if you like it during the day and evening (during light changes) and some stores like lowes will give you a small sample to smear on the wall and see how that goes.

Loads of light colors go with the dark brown... green, yellow, light plue, pale violet!

I would get a color wheel and plan out a scheme that incorporates your bedding, window treatments and paint color before buying anything. A color wheel and a rudimentary knowledge of color theory (which you can google) will help you select a scheme that will work together, be it complimentary, opposite, analogous, etc.

I think a light blue would look super cute too...i mix my blues and browns alot. And white bedding would look awesome with both...or a light tan/linen color...
