    dimmable compact flourescent bulbs

    does anybody use dimmable cfl's? just wondering how well they work, before i spring for 2, since they are ~$10 a bulb. i have a new fixture that's on a dimmer switch. i'd like to be all cfl's.

    I wish, I had a lot of trouble finding them. They were special order through the internet, i couldn't find them anywhere around here. But I understand they work really well.

    We have the GE brand. They SUCK BIG time!!! It is pretty much ON or OFF! there is really no in between. We actually complained to the company and they sent us coupons for free ones. like we really wanted to replace them.

    I think it's possible but not as effective as a regular bulb. I bought a huge pack of standard HE flourecent bulbs and the package said you can use them in dimmer lights but their lifespan will decrease. I tried it and it sucked, however I didn't know they made special HE bulbs for dimmers...I'll have to look at that too!
