Are they comparable? There are LCD, rear projection and plasma tvs, different dpI (or something like that). Like ours is 1080P, some are 740P.

I do agree that generally Sears and other department stores are pricier than large chain stores like Circuit City or Wal-Mart.

are they completely equal? also you are paying for the fact that usually places like Sears pay their employees more, they have a higher overhead for the rent of the location of the store, they have higher utility bills, etc

I usually do price comparison when it comes to big ticket items. With the exchanges they price match. So if you can find it cheaper..you'll pay that price at the exchange.

WalMart pays less for their inventory. Sometimes that also includes a lesser quality product. So lets say that Vizio sells walmart tvs at 400 a pop, but maybe it is made differently or with cheaper parts, but will sell Sears just about the same tv but at 600 a pop but it is made with maybe more expensive parts. Does that make sense? that is why some companies will not sell their products at wal-mart they don't want to compromise their product or cheapen the costs.

    I will miss you SOS...
Please be wary of what you post remember OPSEC is not just another acronym.

    i think you mean 720p.

also yes, there is a difference. LCD tvs are mostly what they seem to be selling at wal-mart, and they are cheaper than plasma TVs. LCD tvs seem to have a lower failure rate (i am tech support for Panasonic) than plasmas and MMDs or DLPs. we don't get many calls on our LCD units.
