Exclamation Tips to making base housing "yours"

I've never lived on base housing, and to my understanding what you can do with it (ie: paint etc.) is limited. So how do you take it and make it your style?

    I am stalking your posts!
You are allowed to paint in base housing. Curtains make all the difference in the world!

Curtains and artwork/pictures on the walls have worked wonders in our house.

Most places you can paint as long as you put it back to the original color before you PCS. (The self-help store on base will usually give you the paint to paint it back )

Other than paint, curtains and pictures really make a huge diffrence

I don't paint because I don't want to have to paint it back when we move but other than that, I decorate as though it were my own home.

We actually really lucked out! We are being moved out in about 8 months(we're moving IN in two weeks) so they can rennovate the house...so we won't have to paint it back!

I think the best thing is area rugs and such. Sometimes the carpets or linoleum is NOT what you would have picked out!
