    Deceptively Delicious

    Advertisements
I finally got Deceptively Delicious cookbook in the mail today, and so far I LOVE it!! She explains how to puree veggies and fruits, and what each fruit and veggie is good for. Also the recipes look really good. I can't wait to try some of them

I think that woman is a genius! Liam is a huge fan of fruits and veggies, but I have a feeling I may not be so lucky this time around, and I want to be prepared! I saw her on television and I plan to buy that asap.

Let me know how the food tastes, I'm excited

I got that book and spent two days pureeing so much food it fills my freezer
But that way I can just pull them out when I need them
I don't always follow their recipes, but just toss pureed cauliflower in mac & cheese, or pureed sweet potatos in taco meat... so far so good

I will soon be the puree queen!!! The pictures look so good!!
I went ahead and bought it because Ava has gotten a little bit picky lately and I just thought that I would get it (just in case).
I'll let you know how the recipes turn out. Also her website is supposed to have recipes on it too. http://www.deceptivelydelicious.com/site/ and on www.oprah.com

Does anyone know if that stuff tastes different because of the additions? Like, a lot different? I might have to do something like that to get myself on a diet, sadly, lol

I'm not sure how theytaste, but a few of her recipes do seem healthier, and none of them seem like they would taste bad to me at least. They would definitely help you incorporate more veggies and vitamins (B-12, Vitamin C, D, and E, and many others). Also a few of the recipes say that they are lower calories. The book was written with the help of her personal nutritionist.

You can barely taste it, if it all.
My boys eat veggies, no problems. My girls are so picky though, and I am so happy to find a way to slip them some more veggies

I tried adding pureed cauliflower to the organic Kraft mac and cheese this afternoon - and it was DELICIOUS!! It made the sauce just a bit thicker, and in my opinion actually tasted better than box mac and cheese on its own. My daughter ate it all up!!

Now I am psyched to go get the book!! Thanks for this thread!!
