The "how often do you wash your dishes" thread in General got me thinking....

Do you prewash your dishes before you put them into the dishwasher?

I only soak dishes if they need it otherwise they go in.

Just scrape. Most dishwashers these days do a pretty job washing the dishes, so I try not to waste too much water prewashing everything.

Have you ever thought about what protects our hearts? / Just a cage of rib bones and other various parts /
So it's fairly simple to cut right through the mess / And stop the muscle that makes us confess / And we are so fragile /
And our cracking bones make noise / And we are just breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys.

My son, who is 10 almost 11, rinses dishes every night after supper/dinner and then puts them in the dishwasher. We run the dishwasher every night after dinner, if it is full. My pampered chef cookware NEVER goes into the dishwasher So I wash it after every use. I hate having dirty dishes sitting around! So whether I used one pan or several pans for a meal they get washed after the meal.
"What's so good about good-bye? It is good to be reminded that life is brief, at best, with no dress rehearsals, and the seasons we are privileged to share together are even more fleeting. Good-bye is good if it teaches us to cherish the life and breath, strength and sound mind, and the moments we are allowed to walk side by side with a friend. Good-bye is good if, in that difficult moment, we stand still long enough to give thanks to God for the lessons we've learned together, the love given, and the love received, recognizing that these are gifts from the hand of God." ~Marshele Carter Waddell

I scrape any big stuff off, and give most of them a quick rinse. I have lived in a house where roomies did not do so, and the dishwasher backed up. It may have been the washer, or the excess food, but not something I want to re-do. lol.

I will rinse most things. They are usually rinsed after use and then stacked neatly in one side of the sink. That way nothing is dried on and it's easy to wash in the DW. Some days we make a lot of dishes... other days we don't... just depends
