Help I need to buy a washer & dryer set.

DH and I just bought a house and we need to buy a washer & dryer set. We looked at Sears and Lowes. I'm torn on the brand and the big debate - front loader vs. top loader. What brand do you all have in your house, what do you like/dislike about it.

We got our Maytag set second hand from another Navy family on CL and it is fabulous! It's only a few years old, and I just couldn't be happier with it. It is just a standard washer/dryer as far as loading goes, which is what I prefer.

We have Whirlpools...and I love them. They are top loaders, but we can't afford nice frontloaders yet(which we WILL eventually get, they're sooo much more energy and water efficient).

    hmmm

you might want to if you havn't already or dont know about it to check craigslist.com and go under your state and then city and then click household and/or a realative topic to find washer/dryers. Alot of people sell or give away stuff on there for lower then the cost of buying. Thats where I go to find things.

We have Whirlpool front loaders, I them.. We got the pedestals for them too.. They wash and dry stuff so fast, it's crazy! And they were a great source of entertainment for about a week, I'd put in a load of clothes, and just sit and watch them spin.
