    I need decorating help...

    Advertisements
So, I've spent this deployment decorating our house. I'm mostly done, but I am completely stuck on one thing. I have a picture in my living room that I absolutely love. It was a gift from my dad, so it's very special to me. But it's on the small side so it just looks out of place on the wall. I need something(s) to make it look less out of place. I've been searching for 5 months and I can't find anything. The entire living room is decorated around this picture, so it is in reds, brushed gold, & browns with a few other accent colors mixed in. Any suggestions would be very welcomed.
Added a pic so you get an idea on how big the wall is. It's the only wall I have to put it on...would sconces still make the picture work there or would I need something a little bigger?

i agree. wall sconces or even some box shelves or regular shelves to put candles or pictures in or on would be very pretty and would kind of frame the picture and draw even more attention to it

definitely sconces! They make candle holder wall sconces and actually Target has a lot of very nice copper ones. I just put up some candle sconces in my room and they look great.

i agree sconces make a big difference i just finish redoing our dining room and to help fill out a wall the sconces looked wounderful... our dining is black and white... and is centered around our iron table so the frames and sconces matched beautiful

I agree Sconces would look great!! Or even mirrors or if you can find them, smaller pics of either the same flowers or other red flowers that match in shade.

Or if you can get frames that match, putting pictures up. Like a pic of you and dh on the upper left, then a pic of all your children on the lower right. Or vice-versa. Or having 2 family pics, with different poses. But then, I'd just put them on the left and right, but equal in height. Anyways, whatever you decide, I'm sure it will look great.

That looks like a pretty big wall, so Im not sure is scones alone would do the trick.
Maybe add some wall shelves and put 8*10 picture frames on them on each side

What about going to Michael's or A.C. Moore (whichever you have) and looking through their paintings to see if you can find any that would look great with it??? You can get them to match the frames and then after a few pictures (one on each side since the wall is so long) you could put sconces up to help make it more even.
