Husband will be stationed at Camp Lejeune - Where to live?

My fiance and I are getting married in October and then will be moving to Jacksonville, NC. We are not really interested in living on base, any suggestions on good areas/neighborhoods or even neighboring towns to live in??

    Thanks!

I will be moving down there in December. DB and I are looking in Midway Park and Hubert for now. Midway Park is literally right next to the base so it would be a short commute. Hubert is a little bit away but close to the back gate.

Richlands, Hubert, Sneads Ferry...it just depends on how far out you want to be.

Thank y'all! We are from Texas, though he's currently living in Virgina at Quantico, and neither of us have even ever been to North Carolina. Since he's deploying soon after we get up there, we just want a safe area that has a good "community". I've looked at Sneads Ferry a bit so far as well as Swansboro and both were a little out of our budget. I hadn't heard of Midway Park.

I am not going to lie to you, it's not the best area. There are some things to do but not a whole lot. It is close to the ocean and there are some nice beaches near by. Midway Park has a lot of affordable duplexes for around $600-$700 a month
