I'm in Jacksonville; DH is stationed at New River. There's 5 or so more active users here from the area, and I believe there are several newbies as well.

    be cool.

Its great to know I can stay connected to all of from NC. Ill be moving in February, which is around the corner at the time im looking for housing and so far thats going good. I hear good and bad things about living in Jacksonville area. ???
How do you girls like the area? which area is good to live in that's quiet since im going to be a mommy soon.
Im expecting my first baby in April so I'm also looking for a good hospital in the area, do you girls know of any?

    Thanks so much

Good thing: You're with your SO... You can eat, go to the movies, shop at a crappy mall... or sit at home / with friends and be bored Wilmington is only about half an hour away, so if you guys like to go to clubs, bars, that's the place to be on the weekends. It's really fun, and I'm not a partier. We've never been there during the day though. Busch Gardens VA is only about a 4 hour drive as well, so that's another great weekend place to go if your SO is aloud to go that far on weekends. Raleigh is a few hours away, but a lot of Marines go there to party, since it's a college town. I'm assuming all those places are fun during the day as well And then Myrtle Beach is a few hour drive, and super fun for the weekends no matter what you're looking for. Calm, or party.

Bad thing: It's pretty much the most boring place ever

DH and I live towards Richlands, right outside of Jacksonville city limits. I love it out here. We're only like 5 minutes from Western, which is full of shopping and food. But we're far enough to where we don't have the Jacksonville traffic. We're about 20 minutes from Lejeuen & New River, so it's perfect for us. There's actually a house for sale right next door

As for you about to have a baby... Before moving here I was a childcare provider for four years, so if you guys ever need a night alone, I'm your girl!

The only hospital that I'm aware of is Onslow, it's right by TT if you plan on living on base housing.

We'll be leaving Jacksonville in the middle of next year though, so I'm pretty darn excited to leave

    be cool.
