Question If you could live anywhere in the US

    Advertisements
(As a civilian) Where would you live in the continental US and why?

Cost of living? Housing? Schools? Climate?

1st-South Carolina (I miss it so much, we were happiest there)

    2nd-Savannah, Georgia

    3rd- Tennessee

The second two are places we've always dreamed of living.

Cost of living in SC is great. GA was that beautiful dream like place that weve vacationed. Tennessee cost of living, family. All three have great climate

I love Alaska because it is beautiful and that's where I grew up.
I love Vermont because they have real fall foliage.
I love Arizona for the fall/winter/spring weather and monsoons. I could do without the triple digits, but other than that, it's pretty much perfect here.

I like Washington/Oregon (though I don't love them; they're just a great compromise), and think that's probably where I'll end up.

    It really is great here.

    1. (at least temporarily) Washington DC, or more likely, Fredericksburg, Virginia. I love the history of the area and all of the monuments/museums in DC. I'm a government major so that's my natural habitat.

    2. (where we will end up I'm sure). SW Washington State. Both DH and I grew up there. There is plenty of space to live out in the woods while still beign close to civilization. The season are beautiful, we're less than two hours from the mountains or the coast too.

Its hard to say. I would love to live in Alaska because its beautiful... but when we really sit down and think about it, we love it here. Our family is here, we both love the rain, and we are just minutes from the mountains, the bay, the river, lakes, etc.. and only an hour from fun city stuff in Seattle. We may still have a bit of moving left with the military, etc... but I think we will end up back here. (Northwestern Washington.)

I love how our reasons are practically the same.

I have always been fascinated by Alaska and the New England area. Although I have never been to either of those places.
So, somewhere I have been, I would say Kentucky, it is so beautiful there. I would love to have a little house on some land in a town semi-small town. A nice, quiet, country life...just the way I grew up.
