Have any of you new homeowners ammended your 2008 return and file for the tax credit early? I was told that you can by our mortgage broker and I called some tax professionals in the area and they agreed. Just curious if anyone else did it?

We amended our tax returns, and had to mail it in. It will take the IRS 4-8 weeks to process it and post the payment.

Hmmm. We mailed ours in because we did our taxes online. There was a form at the IRS site that we just filled out, and then mailed in. We didn't have to give them any additional forms, I don't think.
