Marriage/va loan question - Home Sweet Home

I hope this makes sense...We're hoping to buy a house together before we get married in October. We'd like to have a home to move into once we're married. D wants to use the va loan. Will we be able to use the va loan as a couple before we get married or would only he be able to be on the loan?

im assuming it would just be him.

no- for the VA it would only be him-
I know first hand because we wanted to do something similar-

we had to be married 7 days before the closing date.

otherwise it would have been a loan only in his name.

It will only be in his name if ya'll arent married.

I figured it would only be in his name. Shucks. I don't think we'll get approved for as much with him just on the loan. We'll either have to wait or do an FHA.
