I will be moving into an apartment in mid-July...when should we pay the deposit? I'm new to all of this!

we paid our deposit the day we moved in

We paid the deposit when we moved in. Just call and ask when they want it.

We did pay $100 to be at the top of the list so we would be the first to call when something came open.

Usually the deposit is owed when you move in. Now, some land lords will let you split the deposit up if it is a lot.

The last time I lived in an apartment, I want to say that we paid the deposit the week before we moved in. I would just call and ask when the landlord expects it.

about a week before we moved in... since it was convent for us, we paid it when he paid for the credit check.
