Hello
CT has been my home for 21yrs and well its home haha. I know where he will be, I have driven there a couple of times, obvi by the water so it can be very pretty. CT can be a great state if you know what to do or go to surrounding cities. I would be more than happy to chat with you or answer any questions you have. PM me anytime

Ummmmm, right now it blows, but that is just because I slipped & fell on the ice in my driveway today.
![]() I know that the base is referred to as New London, but it's actually across the river in Groton. This area is kinda dull, unless you enjoy gambling (since we have 2 with 20 min). I mean there are movie theaters, malls, restaurants, Walmart( )I've lived here for the last 16 yrs, so just ask away! |

You were a sell out, but you couldn't even do that right

New London is actually very pretty. There is water nearby, beaches, and from what I understand a nice sized mall? ExDB went to school there. CT isnt bad once you get used to it. There are some towns that are very country with farms, etc. And there are some towns that are very city-like with shopping centers and clubs/bars everywhere. PM me if you have any specific questions

We live about 20 minutes from the base, north of New London. It's a nice area, great place to raise a family. There is alot to do if you don't mind traveling a little bit. NYC, Boston, and lots of fun things to do during the warmer months.

I'm not sure what these other ladies think is pretty about it.
I don't find it pretty at all, unless you are down at the sounds edge. Groton-New London is in a great location though. You are smack dab in between NYC and Boston. Plus you have Providence and Newport (one of my favourite cities in the northeast) just a short drive away. I haven't been bored while I have lived here. There are lots of places to shop, there are two casinos and in the summer time we have our pick of beaches and lots of other things to do as well. The Atlantic is a little too cold for my liking up here though, brrrr.

I grew up about an hour north, but now I live in New London. DB is stationed in Groton, though he's leaving on an IA soon... pfft. CT is a very easy place to live. Mostly people are nice, mostly things are pretty close, mostly you can get what you need when you need it. Harkness is beautiful, even in jan, some of the other beaches are really nice in the summer. Pretty much what you need to know about CT is the liquor stores are "packys" the main roads to get anywhere are 84, 95, and 91, stay out of Hartford, and read the street parking signs (yes they WILL tow you)
