Too many choices...it didn't help that I had to choose quickly. Also had a bad realtor so that didn't help AT ALL.

I'm still pretty excited about it though

we've only been looking for 1 week at this point it's still exciting and not stressful, but i want to brace myself for the common issues that are bound to arise.

buying long distance- and having to do everything from 4 thousand miles away

I clicked financing and "other". I had no problem GETTING a loan, but once we got the closing paperwork started, suddenly the lender needed all these teeny tiny little things and I had to sign and scan and send back a ton of stupid crap that they SHOULD have sent me all at once. That was a pain. They were being nitpicky even after we signed the papers!!

I checked other. We had to buy a house from across the country in a very limited period of time. We took a red eye to the new location, got off the plane, saw about 30 houses and decided on one 24 hours after returning home. Our realtor called me and told me the seller was supposed to sign with someone else that very afternoon. Of course this was the one day that DH was on a field trip and not reachable by cell. My parents were on a boat and not reachable by cell. DH and I hadn't had a chance to hammer out our final offer and I couldn't get ahold of anyone to advise me! Finally my friend called me from work and talked me through it. Our offer was accepted and we had to do everything over the fax machine - and we don't own a fax machine! I practically lived at Staples.

Haven't done a military move, but when I bought my place my seller didn't have all her ducks in a row; aka the ex-husband off the loan, he was already off the title, and due to their divorce he didn't want to sign off on it. Pushed everything back almost a month trying to get it dealt with.

I was pressed for time.. I sold one house, and only had a month to buy another..

I looked at rentals, but every rental had a basement out of a horror movie and was full of spiderwebs..

I voted location just cause the two houses we went down to were in totally different places but honestly we had such a great experience when buying our home that I'm scared I got spoiled with it
