How many homes did you look at before you found "THE ONE" the one & only, the greatest, the house that you bought?? Just curious
![]() ![]() Was the process of looking at the houses fun or a pain in the butt??

The house we ended up buying was the very first house we saw. HOWEVER, our offer was secondary the first time so we ended up looking at 10-15 more houses over the course of 3 months. THEN, we were just driving through the neighborhood looking at houses and we both thought "wow, that looks familiar" and realized the first house we had put an offer on was back on the market!! We snatched that up quickly!!

Between a two day period, we looked at probably 15 homes and came back to the second one we had orginally looked at. Placed a bid that evening on the second day of looking and was accepted the next day.
Also, in the two day period we also looked at 5 or 6 homes of new builds. We had considered doing a new built but it was going to take at least 6 months for completion and I did not want to wait that long. |

We saw four other homes before we got to this one. With three of them, we knew right off that the house as not "the one". The fourth was a close call but still didn't fell 100% right. When we arrived at this house, we knew it WAS the one.

I looked at between 20-30. I knew exactly what i wanted (i'm picky) so a lot of the houses we'd walk in and walk right back out. When I saw my house I knew it was "the one". I did find it enjoyable to walk around and see other people's houses and how the lived and decorated

I've never been able to house hunt.. (except before I met DH and I was trying to get one for just me) but had more of a budget than a couple might have!
We really want to build a house, close to time for retirement. Good look though sweetie, I think it will be fun
