VB is expensive no matter how you slice it but it does depend a little on area and house vs. apartment.

If you browse through them each day, you'll get a feel for what the average is. The average asking price is usually what you can expect to pat, whether it's "Reasonable" or not.
I think $2000-$2100 for a 3-4 bedroom is absolutely absurd but it's unfortunately the "average" for San Diego. So, even though it's not reasonable at all, IMO, it's what we're going to have to pay if we want to rent a place out there. You can usually just sort through and check out the different locations and if you're shooting for a certain price range, I'd plug that in to the min and max price fields so it's easier to target what exactly you're looking for.
