    Crafting a cooler...

    Advertisements
So, I am painting the DH a cooler for his upcoming graduation. Yes, I know, it is super fratty but I thought they looked cool and I am going to stuff it with some other fun stuff so, here I am. I have already primed the crap out of that puppy with plastic primer. You can't even tell what color it was anymore. Does anyone know if I should use a certain kind of paint to paint my design or can I use regular craft paint? Also what, oh what, do I use to seal it? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

OMG! I loved painting coolers in college! I still have every color of plastic paint

Plaid (the brand) makes a paint called "Paint for Plastic." You can find it with the small bottles of acrylic paint at Michaels. I covered my coolers in it, and then sprayed it to death (I think with acrylic clear coat). This is the last one I made, but as far as I knew, the one I made freshman year was still in good shape. I've also painted plastic cups and martini glasses with it

I wish I took pictures of some of my other ones. I was really proud of some of the other ones. I'm only proud of half of this one But it's a good example of the paint!

Love the cooler! I'm super jealous of how artistic you are.
