    Hotel Key cards table

    Advertisements
I can never bring myself to throw away key cards from our weekenders and vacations, but I never knew what to do with them. Turns out, they have the potential to jazz up our cheapie ikea furniture. I painted a handful of them and embellished them to indicate some of our most memorable hotel stays and plan to cover it in resin or a piece of glass to preserve it.

Thought I would share with those of you, who like me, have them laying around all over the house

(They are aligned unevenly. I gotta wait for ole Steady Hands to get home from work before I secure them down).

That's an awesome idea. A friend of mine did something similar with beer bottle caps in college.

    That's awesome!

I wish I would've kept all of DH and I's hotel keys, but I, always, thought we'd get charges a ridiculous fee for it.

I just read up on this, and some people keep them, because it's been a rumored that they have your credit card information on them.

snopes.com: Hotel Key Card Identity Theft

This rumor started when a police department was showing how any card with a magnetic strip could be encoded with info by thieves. They showed a room key and how thieves had used it and an investigator at the meeting misunderstood and thought the thieves were obtaining the information from the room keys. She then put out a warning which snowballed. They later printed a retraction.
