    Knitting needle question

    Advertisements
I've decided to take up knitting. I'm leaning toward the bamboo needles, because they don't make that annoying click click click click click click...but I also just like the way they look. Anyone have thoughts? Needles preferences? Why do you prefer certain needles?

I love bamboo needles. I use the Clover needles. My grandma gave me the aluminum ones when I started knitting, but switched last year when I needed some no. 13 needles and they only had it in bamboo. OH MY GOD. I never split the yarn now and I find they are easier to handle and not so slippery. I also love how they are not terribly expensive.

I prefer wooden and bamboo knitting needles for regular knitting. For socks I like metal, because I tend to hold the teeny needles too tight, and end up bending them.

I like bamboo too! It holds the stitches a lot better and I never have stitches fall off like I sometimes do with aluminum ones.
