    Cinnamon ornaments

This might be a fun craft for a wintry day.. and they smell SOOO good!! We made them in our play group last year and the kids had SOOO much fun

1 cup of cinnamon (usually one of the $.50 containers).
    1 teaspoon cloves
    1 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/3 - 1/2 cup applesauce
    2 tablespoons glue

Mix it all together, then empty it out on a cutting board and knead it a few
times. It should be like bread dough or play dough consistency. Add more applesauce if it is dry. Roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick (I use my hands since it does not have to be perfect). Use any cookie cutters and make shapes, then lay them flat on the cookie sheet. Using a pencil, put a hole in the top of the ornament so you can tie a ribbon in it when it dries. I also used hooks inserted into the top of the ornaments and it looked nice. The ornaments take about 3 days to dry, so flip them once or twice a day until they are completely dry. You can also bake them at 150 degrees for 20 minutes. Once they are dry, use an Emory board to soften up the edges.
