Hey ladies,
So last Christmas me and DH was driving to our new home so we didn't get to decorate ![]() And this year will be our first real Christmas so that means I have to buy everything... a tree, lights, decorations.... and to be honest we cant really afford it at the moment But Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, When I lived back home in England my room would be like a Grotto!! What are some Cheap ways I could make decorations that look cool! I wanna try do a traditional look. or even if any of you ladies have any old decorations you wanna sell off. All ideas would be greatly appreciated

You can go to Target or Wall mart and buy the inexpensive glass ball ornaments in all one color, or two colors... and since they are about $2.50 per box... you can buy enough to FILL your tree to the brim. I'd buy a couple of rolls of ribbon... at 1.00 a roll and tie two balls together with the ribbon and hang with one hook. My mom did that one year with gold and red balls and red ribbon... and that tree was awesome. She didn't even put lights on it! I have one tree that is similar... just cheap balls in two colors and a bow on top... But it would look cute to tie a bow on each hook too. ![]() The candy canes came from the $ store ... 2 in a pack. But you could hang real ones for a $1 a box... Red and silver balls, red ribbon and tons of candy canes!

In a few weeks the thrift stores will start having them. If you want a new one I would try Walmart or see if Michaels has a coupon. Ebay is always an option too.

Also, I know this won't help you much for this year. But after christmas keep an eye on the stores. I got TONS of awesome christmas stuff last year for 75% off at Target after Christmas. I can not wait to decorate this year!!!!

Like Kensington said, my suggestion would be to buy some really inexpensive stuff and then spruce it up with ribbons, stuff you already have around the house, or stuff you can collect for free from outdoors. If you like to paint, Michaels usually has a bunch of unfinished wood decorations for $1 and then just buy some acrylic craft paint. |
