Has anyone ever done a bustle for a dress? I just realized my daughter's dress for her school parade tomorrow is way too long in the back, it has a tulle train that drapes down from about knee high down about 2 feet behind her. I need to bustle this so she can wear it without tearing it to shreds or tripping over it and hurting herself. Is it as simple as just picking the tulle up in a few places and sewing it to the solid fabric at the hemline behind her knees? Sewing is deifnitely not my strong point but she'll probably stab herself if I just try pins.

Here's hoping I don't wreck the dress.

Good luck!
![]() I sew... but I'm a "beginner". I basically buy a pattern that looks cute, buy the fabric and materials, then go to it, figuring out as I go. Can't really offer much advice unless I've already done it - and so far haven't sewed a dress yet. |
