I have a dilemma...

I can't decide on HOW to organize my books. So far, I've made a scrapbook for each child.
I would like to do themed books, Such as: holidays, school years, etc.
But I don't want to end up with tons of scrapbooks either.

To the scrapbookers: How do YOU organize your books? .....
by year?
by events/holidays?(example: halloween scrapbook with ONLY halloween pics in it)
by timeframe? (example: scrapbook about the 3 yrs you lived in Germany)

I have a few books based on themes (ie. I have a Halloween book, a "theatre" book for every play I've been to, a Navy one for the things I do with DB now that he's enlisted, a wedding one for all of my friend's weddings)... the rest are random to be honest, with who knows what in each... I know one is mostly from high school and the beginning of college, another is stuff since I graduated and will include the things I do here.

i've done mine all a little differently! I do both significant events and time periods. I did a few for high school, but also created one with the notes from my first love in high school. I've done one for each year in college in chronological order. I always just found it easier to organize them that way. I haven't done any for me and DB, but will be doing one after he deploys!!

I have one for both of my kids and since they aren't that old yet my sons starts from birth and goes until 3. Since that book is full I've started another one for him. My daughters I believe I will do the same way.

I have one for my husband and I, haven't done a wedding one yet

I have one for family photos and all of the outings and family things we've done together.

Lastly I have one of my husbands military career.

Oh, I gave my hubby an army book for christmas, I actually expected him to fill it....don't know what i was thinking.....although he did put a few certificates and such in there...

I mostly do them by person and some of them by events like my pregnancy, Dh's career, etc...

My family albums run from before we got married to date... Then I took all of my second copies of pictures and started each of my 7 kids a life album, going from birth trough college. (Birthdays, special things, sports, school pics, graduations) My girl has hers, and the rest are still in progress. And I have made albums of each of my sons weddings.

I was going to do albums of "Just Christmas" ... but that got sidetracked.. Because each of my albums going one full year... from January 1 to New Years Eve. Some albums are smaller than others. Some years need TWO albums. But, I have done our family history.

I also did one of my family history back to my great grandparents on both of my parents sides to my kids... including aunts uncles, cousins and places, dates and such. I am currently gathering pics to do one for my husband's family also.

That's pretty much how I've done mine. I've also got one for my time in the Navy and one larger one for dh's career.

I've also done one for dh that he takes along when he's deployed. I really need to do another because another refill won't fit in his current book and I'm way behind!

ugh, I love scrapbooking but mine are a mess.

I made my parents one of their australia trip
My sister one of when we went to Disney 5 yrs ago

and then for me i have one bizarrely ordered one from High School and before

and then one I did for college that has a few pages for each year and then graduation, my post college vacay to vegas, and I need to do more, but I haven't had hte time

That's a really good idea! I didn't think to do that....
