How do i make my own Name Plaque or Sign?

So what I'm hoping to do is make my own sign, preferably free standing, to put in front of my house so friends, family, and pizza guys can find my house easy. My husband is with the military so we move around a lot and normally rent which is why i would like to make a free standing sign that wouldn't be permanent so we could take it with us. I want the sign to look professional and nice and i do have a little artist ability but i also need the sign to be durable since it will be outside and in different kinds of weather. Thanks for the help!

My sil has a big ROCK carved that sits on her lawn... Not sure the "movers" would appreciate that though. But, it is really neat.

Shameless plug.. But I sell uppercase living and we also sell accessories like wooden boards. If your not familiar with UL, they are decals that go on your walls, etc.

I think you buy the decals... and find your own rock.. But, I like that idea! I also like the one on the siding by the front door! Nice.

Yeh, you buy the vinyl and provide your own rock, plaque to put it on, or we do have a number of accessories to put decals on as well. Like the wooden board there or we have frames that have clear acrylic inserts that you can put decals on and change out the insert.

The prices vary. What you'll want to do is when you get a chance on my website go to the MyDesign Suite. There you can create your own decals. The pricing is per letter and all depends on the size. So you put the measurements in of the space you have to work with and then you can play around with what size you want/need. So for example. A 1 inch letter is $1, and it goes up like a 3 inch is 1.20, 5 inch 1.50. We have many colors to choose from, but we have a special premium bond vinyl in white or black and it's made to withstand various temperatures and weather so that would be ideal for outside, but it shouldn't go directly on the exterior of your home, it's more for a rock, or plaque, etc. There is an extra charge for it. $2.50 for an order up to $9.99, $5 for a decal up to $19.99, etc.

but yeah i want to make 2 free standing sign for the front of the house with our name on it so visitors can find the house. That way we can take it with us everytime we move and we won't have to make a new one everytime since it won't have our address on it.

but i love LOVE the garden sign. I also found this website... i like these to but its hard to customize it. i don't like that you HAVE TO put an address.

Here's an idea... No rock... Buy a wooden tray... you know the kind you carry stuff on for parties and such... Wood. Prime it and paint or stain it for weather proofing... and then get the decals to put on your info... You can hang it or lean it, or stand it or nail it to anything, and when you move... take it with you to do over again!

I very large cutting board would work too....

For the one in the link you have.... you could go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy the 16 or 18 inch ceramic tiles and make it, frame it and hang it or put it on a stand in the yard.

You can hang it from one of those iron flag garden poles they sell... That would be easy to uplift and carry off when you want.

If you look in the catalog in the accessories we have a punched metal tile which I think would be pretty easy to make free standing. You can get it in 8 x 8 in creme or artichoke color for $9.99, or a 12 x 12 in creme for $14.99. Then click on the mydesign suite (in product showcase tab) and choose text and graphic expressions. There you can choose one of those punched tiles as your work space and then play around with texts so you know how big you can go on them and make sure your custom decals will fit.
