At what age did you start doing this with your kids? I feel like Tristen is to young to start it but I think it would be fun.

I'm not doing it but I have thought about it. I think dd is just at the right age to really start enjoying things like that, last year I think she woulda just thought he was a cute elf toy.

I haven't started it yet but plan to next year so we can begin the tradition. But in general, I think by the time they understand Santa would be a good start.

"Thank you so much. No matter what, nothing is possible without you behind the scenes bustin heads and takin names. Thank you again. Everything you have done for me means a lot and nothing has gone unnoticed. I love you so much and thank you for saying 'I do.'"

David is 2.5 (basically) and I'm planning on starting it this year. I'm sure he won't get it fully but it will still be fun and I think he will enjoy it too! He knows Santa and Christmas so I think he will catch on fairly quickly to the elf too.

I feel so behind asking this but can you explain what elf on the shelf is. I didn't hear anything about it until last year and didn't know the exact purpose of it.
I have loved for you a thousand years,
I'll love you for a thousand more

I just got one last year and ODD was 7. I already put it out this year and YDD doesn't seem to notice so far or last year. She just turned 2. She does like the story and the movie, though.

LM is 2 soon and I am thinking about doing it this year. The elves are just kind of spendy so I haven't yet. Once we get home and settled today though and I start decorating I think I am going to go but one.

I have one for Matty, and I think I will start it next year, when he is 2.5.

Long story short, the Elf on the Shelf is meant to be a reporter for Santa. He comes to your house, watches over the children, and reports back to santa every night and tells him whether they behaved or not. Every morning, he is suppose to be in a new location, as he leaves every night. Make sense?
