going out for thanksgiving? - Happy Holidays

so i'm going to ask now before i forget....has anyone ever gone out for thanksgiving? was it a good idea? did you like it?

my story...I am going to IL for thanksgiving for my FAVORITE holiday and i want to make sure i get a good meal lol. so if your from IL where you think is a good place to go?

Back in 1998 when we were statione dhere the first time I was working so many hours I had no energy to cook. So we went to the full moon cafe on 41 for Thanksgiving dinner. It was free for military and pretty good. Then for Christmas we went to flanigans on 137 just past 41. It was a buffet and good as well. Obviously not exactly like homecooking but both hubby and I liked it.

We are thinking of going to Full Moon.

My family goes out for thanksgiving, but then my mom makes the turkey at home because its not the same without the leftovers...They go to the Golden something, its a buffett...We went last year and it was nice!!

You can hunt and search the local papers...I know at home a lot of the hotels had big buffetts too!

Oh yeah there is a golden corral in Gurnee. Maybe try calling them to see if they are open

I once went to a Boston Market in WA for Thanksgiving dinner. No cleaning up works for me

Oh goodness you know what I just thought of? Are ya'll gonna be in a hotel? You can actually order a thanksgiving dinner from like dominicks. He would just need to place the order or you would a few days ahead of time. It comes with all the fixings and ya'll could take that back and eat it there if you wanted to. We did that the year I had my son since I had him early Nov and I was still recovering
