Traditons, - Happy Holidays

Do you have them? What is it that you do? Or you want your kids growing up doing??
Every Year we go driving around and look at christmas lights, and we each open a present on christmas eve, and every year we buy ONE more christmas ornament, We've done that since I was a child and even though I have been on my own for so many years, I still coninue to do it, and will do it for my son...Every year we carve pumpkins or paint them then we bake the seeds... well i think having your own holiday traditions are nice. it gives you something to look forward too. we love looking at the christmas lights too. and i love baking christmas cookies. i think we are gonna try to do that this year and let Robbie help us decorate them. it might be a mess but we will see what happens. LOL..

We have about the same EXACT ones!
My parents always took me riding around looking at the pretty lights or went to this place not too far away called Christmas City. And we always open 1 gift every Christmas Eve. And we buy the yearly ormament or 2 or 3 since I have this Ornament obsession But, every year on Christmas morning we read the Christmas story out of the Bible before opening gifts... it's something my Dad started when I was very little and it stuck with me!
And my present on Christmas Eve is ALWAYS PJ's And my Dad always put a stuffed animal on my bed on Christmas Eve while I was sleeping. And now he still buys me one! And I do the same for Jerron

aww those are so sweet.. I love having your own family traditions, even if its one that alot of other people do, as long as you do them every year with your family they are great and thats all that matters... Hugs and Kisses Nikki

Yeah db and I exchange ornaments every year plus I love to make cookies at christmas time. its the only time of the year that I actually like to bake. We also do home made christmas pics ( us infront of the tree) Then on christmas I get to my parents house at like 6 am ( Yes I'm still that big kid...) and wake everyone up for christmas.... ( My parents thought they were smart and locked me out last christmas so they could sleep in, so I stood outside their bedroom window and sang christmas carols until they let me in lol...)

Okay, we pick one night to drive around and look at Christmas lights (we stop at McDonalds on the way) and we open one present on Christmas Eve. I still do this with my kids!

We do the light thing too! lol! Dh and I have always carved our pumpkin on Halloween eve, we always bake sweet potatoe pies on Thanksgiving eve. We always read twas night before xmas to our daughter on Christmas eve together. We do Southern Christmas traditional meal on the Eve and a traditional spanish meal on christmas day. We always make greens, cornbread, and black-eyed peas for new years it is a good luck tradition.

DH and I always decorate the tree together when he's home. We get a new ornament for each of us each year. And DH reads Camryn "Twas the Night Before Christmas" on Christmas eve every year. I make chocolate covered oreos and pretzels every year too..
