I'm posting in here because I hope I'm not the only clueless one
![]() I got a turkey and a ham today, both fresh not frozen. Is it safe to refrigerate them until thursday morning, or should I freeze them until the night before and try to thaw with cold water? TIA! |

I was wondering the same thing
I'm still holding off buying one because I don't want to freeze it.

So it's safe to freeze a non-frozen then thaw again? I would have left it in the fridge without thinking twice, but I don't want to poison all DH's buddies
and you ladies have opened my eyes to the foodborne illnesses!I assume the ham is safe in the fridge, as it's smoked and cured, right? Thanks!!!

I did it last year, bought my fresh turkey too early and had to freeze it oops!
As far as the ham goes, as long as it's been cooked already, I think those things last forever! Well, not literally, but a cured ham will be good in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Just check the label on the ham to make sure it says "ready to eat". |
