Hey ladies, I was curious to know how many others are out there. My hubby is in the Navy as a IS1....seeing that we cannot talk to them about their job I thought we could converse here and support eachother when we're confussed, happy, sad, angry...or whatever mood comes along with the job of being an IS wife

DH is in Aschool for it right now.... Last Aschool he got in trouble so he is a fleet returnee...

Sweet I wasn't with my husband when he was in Aschool, has he got his security clearance yet? That interview was fun Some of the questions I was asked where completly off the wall stuff

Anywho I'm Rebecca, nice to meet another SO of someone in that field, he usually keeps his work seperated from home life so I don't know any other wives in his rate.

He was originally going to be a CTR or something so he had to get the clearance for that, I remember them showing up at Calvin Klein where I worked with their badges and sitting outside and them asking crazy questions, I was 17 at the time and very overwhelmed! LOL

DH keeps his work life separate as well, unless we're discussing which part of IS he wants to get into, He has decided on Ground I believe, which will put us either here in VA or San Diego...

Yeap they came to my work too They also interviews some of my co-works cause they knew him...

You should do San Diego, my husband has an awesome command. When I was close to giving birth they didn't let him go into work because he "should be home with me" I was in shock cause his other command here in SD were comeplete ****s and never gave him time off. Now he pretty much comes and goes whenever he wants.

If you have questions about SD just ask, I'm born and raised here and know some info about the commands for IS's

I hate to be the buzzkill, but advertising your SO is intel probably isn't the safest thing to do on here.

I don't think it breaks any opsec rules, but you never know who's reading. Just want to make sure everyone is careful.

huh? I don't get it. It's not like you can't google what an IS does or what clearances they need. I don't think it's a big deal. Besides, I don't think even Rebecca knows EXACTLY what her husband does I was in Operations, my bestie was an IS, our offices were RIGHT next to each other and I still didn't know wht she did

Saying your husband is an IS1 is the same as someone who's screan name is FCWifey or whatever. It's no biggie, there are TONS of rates in the military and tons that are classified, merely mentioning what the rate is is harmless IMO----just as long as you don't mention specs of course

DH was a CTR in the navy and I loved it. Never had to listen to how his day went!

He currently works as a DOD and still dont have listen to what he does.

Thanks for clearing that up Ari, I feel a lot better now knowing I'm not endangering him (even though I already knew that) Oh speaking of, I have to tell you something...I want to get your insight
