Lounging with ocean breezes and palm trees

Well I have since decided that it is impossible to 'blend' a family. It just doesn't happen. They are raised differently and don't live by the same rules, so they just can't blend. I however have come to be ok with that fact and now I try my best to adjust slightly to each child while still trying to stay within the rules of this house.
We have 5 kids all together. He has 2, I have 2 which Ed adopted, nd we have 1 together.

Yours, Mine and Ours

![]() It's so hard to get my step kids to remember 2 sets of rules, one for their mothers house and one for ours...Once I stopped trying to hard it got easier but I do have to agree it never blended cause we still have issues to this day. That being said we have 7 kids all together L has 3 from his previous marriage and I had 2 from mine (since then L adopted my two so their our two ) and we have 2 of our own.

:smile Thanks for the reality check ladies. I'm not married so I am not speaking from experience.
My dd's dad is deceased so there is no dad in the picture. Even though I maintain a relationship with some of my ex-inlaws who remain in dd's life so there would be blending on that score. Db's dd's live in another state so it's not like they are part of his daily life but he does spend a lot of time with them. So, yeah, some merging/blending/negotiating is probably in my future. How is it going? <----- Huge, vague question! Answer how you wish.
