Question about Texas...

I was just wondering if anyone lives or has lived in the Houston area. DB is from there and I will probably be going for Thanksgiving, and most likely moving there in June. I was just wondering what it's like, cool places to see... just basically anything you feel I should know!

I'm not from there, but I've been there. I'm from the Dallas/Fort Worth area! Harrisonsdream is from the Houston area!!!!!!

cool! I am a born and raised California girl, so I really don't know what to expect. Got any advice?

this is our first year here, so i don't know what it will be like in november.. but in june, it's muggy, wear shorts.. invest in bug spray they will eat you alive. Don't bother with perfume because you will just attract the bugs. get used to spending time in traffic plan ahead. oh and the freeways are always under construction, so make sure to have alternate routes available.

What are the elementary schools like? Do you know? I am student teaching right now and hoping to find a job teaching there!

i am from Houston, born and raised. it is a big city so if you are from a big city you shouldnt have a hard time fitting in. it is hot alot there! Some Christmas' I have been able to wear shorts and tank tops! I love Houston. I miss not being there! Do you know what area he is from?

I am baised, i think katyISD is awesome, although I have heard Cy-Fair is pretty good.. Houston ISD not so good. they are building new schools all the time and there are plenty of job opportunities ( or so i heard) here is the link for katy isd
