    Moving Advice

    Advertisements
    Hi everyone!
So I'm get married on Saturday, going on honey moon right after, and moving to Cali from Texas.
I amreally excited but moving is overwhelming, especially with no help.
I know I need to pack enough clothes to last me for the upcoming weeks because our things won't arrive until 12/15.
I also am packing towels, TP, blankets, trash bags, cooking stuff, and important documents.

What else should I pack and need to do?
Thank you So much! Hope everyone is having a great day

Pinterest has a TON of PCS pins and printable things.

other than that I'm not too much help. Make sure you tape off a room for the movers to leave alone and make sure your purse is in there!

Omg when we moved to California it took 3 MONTHS to get all our stuff (it was a series of disasters to say the least...)

Definitely as many kitchen supplies as you can bring. I just thought of all our favorite, basic meals step-by-step and wrote down the supplies we would need for them. If you're a coffee drinker definitely bring a coffee maker (I'm assuming y'all are driving). A bottle opener FOR SURE

I also brought a bunch of stuff that you could easily buy new in California, but we would've had to throw out anyways since the movers wouldn't take open containers. So laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, some basic kitchen stuff like pam, etc.

Good luck! If I think of any more essentials I wish I'd had I'll add them here

    It took them three months???
I hope it doesn't take them that long.
    Yes we are driving!
My fiancé is also under the impression the movers actually pack our clothes into boxes then load them. I keep telling him that isn't a thing, right? They will just load the items?

    Thanks for the advice!!

they will pack you and move you.
If you pack something they will very likely unpack it and redo it themselves.
    in short, he's right

It was definitely an absurd amount of disasters, by no means normal, don't worry!!

And just call the moving company to verify about packing. I assumed they would repack anything I had packed (we had all our stuff in a storage unit), so I didn't pack very well, and they hardly repacked anything (again though, this is my experience with a sub-par moving company...)

Are you living together? Are you on his orders?

Is this a military move? Like, the military hired all of the movers? You aren't on his orders because you aren't married yet, so I'm not sure exactly how this would work.

If it is a military move, they pack everything.
