So according to my little Facebook on this day timeline memories thing, six years ago today was when I saw my first giant Hawaii cockroach I was traumatized enough to post about it. And I even described it in the comments as being the size of a baby foot.

Lifelong Floridian here too - I pick them up with toilet paper and give them a ride down the commode express. My friend's mom was so scared of them that she vacuumed one up, then threw away the whole vacuum cleaner and moved to Seattle because they apparently don't have any. Wish I could say I was kidding.

It could be coming from a neighboring apartment. If you are clean, it does not mean your neighbors are. Check with your landlord or property management company to investigate.

This is what we use. It says for fire ants but the co-op swore by it for roaches. We did one application behind the stove and fridge and around the trash cans. Never saw another roach. Going on 3 months now. We have a huge abandoned field and barn behind our house and well, Texas. So they were a major problem. It didnt bother the dogs or the kids.

Pray you never move to Hawaii. I live on the 25th floor and those suckers still find their way into my home on occasion, and never the tiny ones. Always the ones that are big enough to eat a cat. The door-block Raid (blue bottle, automatic sprayer) seems to help if you spray around all your door jams and windows.

Yes! Straight out of the damn Jurassic.
