Military Ball Dresses. DH's "dining out" aka make up birthday ball, is in vegas this june. i have SUCH a hard flipping time finding dresses that i need to start looking early. i live in the middle of nowhere pretty much, so online is my best bet.

so throw me some ideas! stores you got yours from, websites, anything.

extra points to anyone who knows places with free returns/shipping. since im sure im going to have a hard time finding one that is even close to the right size

ETA: id like to avoid paying more for tailoring than i pay for my dress. hence the returns thing. and i dont want to spend over $200-$250 on it since ill prob only wear it once

My first one I got at Macy's for like $70. My second one I discovered this store in our mall called Glitzy and they had formal dresses galore! It was $80 for that one. I still have both sitting in my closet... Will probably try to sell them soon though.

I found mine at Ross! I always look for "Ball" "Dining out" dresses during prom season or formal season. Ross always has a shit ton.

Uhm I actually ordered mine off amazon I couldn't find any nice dresses here for under 150$ which was my limit cause I probably won't wear it again. So I just went to amazon to check and was surprised they had so many nice dresses. Plus the reviews were actually helpful with picking the right size

i just browsed some of the big department stores. all the junior dresses are short BOO and all the womens dresses look too plain, nothing jumps out at me that id like.

my dress last year was multicolored with like leopard spots all over it, without looking as tacky as it sounds when i type it out. haha. I found a few on davids bridal, and i never would have thought of amazon!! def going to have to look there now!

macys! it was a lucky find. i would just keep scouring sales in big department stores and whatnot. something is bound to come up. also, there will be prom stuff up before june!
