Car seat - General Parenting

Ok ladies I need some help. My FMIL is coming out here for Jake's homecoming. She is possibly going to be bringing Jake's son. In order to make the trip easier for her I want to get a car seat so she doesn't have to lug it on the plane.

However, I don't have a clue what to look for in a car seat. How do I know if I got the right one? FDSS will be about 22 months when they are here.

22 months Get a Forward Facing Car seat I bought one for 40.00 at walmart This Is mine http://www.walmart.com/Cosco-Back-Bo...eat/ip/1943168

Since It's just for short time I'd go to Walmart and get a cheapie forward facing seat

. Make sure you get a 5-point harness, not a booster.

FYI: She can check it at the counter (for free -- no additional costs to check car seats) and not have to carry it with her to/from the plane. It will be waiting with her luggage when she arrives at her destination.

You might also want to make sure that the child is FF already. I know Bella will still be rear-facing at that age. Walmart does have a 40-50 dollar seat that is RF/FF and 5 point harness.

He is forward facing already, the car seat FMIL has in her car is ff.
The bolded is good to know though...I did not know they had those!

I would definitely look into a rear-facing seat for a child that young!

If he's almost 2 and they have him FF I see no reason for her to RF him for a visit.
