apparently i'm the babysitter.. - General Parenting

i feel so bad because of my work schedule i can't really take DD to school and pick her up...so one of the few times i'm able to...the teacher that open the door in the morning says...oh you must be the babysitter.....

i was floored...i was like no i'm the mom.....i know she didn't mean any harm...but that just made me feel like 100x worse..

Awww...I'm sorry. That sucks. I taught daycare for years & I was always careful with my wording when someone new would come pick up a child because I remember someone saying something like that to my mother when I was in daycare YEARS ago. I remember it hurting her feelings.

I'm sorry that she made you feel that way. You have a beautiful family, and your DD is absolutely adorable!

Aww, try not to take it personally. You're doing what you can to provide for her- it may not be ideal, but that's the way it is.

Don't let it get to you too much. I know that must be hurtful, but picking up your child from school is not what makes someone a great mom. You provide a home, food, and most importantly, love for your child. I'm sure you are a fantastic mom.

thanks everyone..

i know i'm doing the best i can...and even though i can't be there for her for school things i do try to be there for her for everything else like dance and stuff and we're always doing things together on my days off...sometimes it's just frustrating not to be able to see that excitement of coming home from school excited to show you what they've learned today...i want to enjoy it while i can...when she's young enough to still be excited by school.. kwim
