I'll ask my mom when she gets off work- she's an OT and works with speech therapists in the school district, so she may have an idea.
I do think it's a difficult letter, though.

My daughter is taking speech therapy right now and they should learn L sound sometime while they are 4. Get a popsicle stick and rub the roof of their mouth with it and tell your child that is their special spot and that the tip of their tongue should touch that spot when they say words like: love, last, logan, little and so on... They will get it eventually.... Then move onto middle L words and ending in L words.

DS just turned 4 last month. He is in speech therapy and his ST has been working with him on the L sounds this whole month. All you can really do is have them keep repeating L words like "love", "Lego", "little", etc. You say "love" and then have her repeat "love" and so on. Hve her look AT you when you repeat words, that way she knows where her tongue is supposed to be.
You can also put something on her top lip(peanut butter, Nutella, etc.) to get her to keep licking it off. That's what DS's former ST told us to do, but we never tried it... |

So far DS can say his "L"s fine, but I couldn't say them until I was around 3. I sang "Mary had a yittle yam" and called my sister "Yaura." My parents took me to a speech therapist and she said it would clear up fine (which it did shortly after)
